Q: I need a temporary workforce from Echelon Staffing Solutions. What is the process?

Q: What is the turnaround time for getting Echelon’s workforce in production for us?
A: Depending on the skill set required, our turnaround time is usually 1-5 business days.
Q: Are your workers insured in case of accident on the job?
A: Yes.
Q: Who manages Echelon’s workers while they are on the job for us?
A: Echelon has Project Managers and coordinators who handle all Echelon employees.
Q:What kind of jobs/ industries do you fill?
A: Please see Industries Served and Positions Filled pages.
Q: Can I access your employee database to search for workers?
A: We are not able to share our database but we can share skilled specific resumes based on your needs.
Q: What is the cost of an initial presentation?
A: There is no-cost.
Q: Are there any retention fees?
A: Echelon Consulting does not require any retention fees.
Q: Do you provide security?
A: Yes.
Q: Do you provide Executive protection?
A: Yes.
Q: Are your workers exclusive to Echelon or do they work with other strike providers?
A: We have some employees that are exclusive to Echelon.
Q: What are your turnover rates?
A: Because of our extensive screening process, we have minimal turnover rate.
Q: Do you provide benefits to the workers?
A: Because our employees are on short term contracts, we don’t provide benefits other than unemployment insurance.
Q: Do you provide drug testing?
A: Yes.
Q: When is the appropriate time to begin the planning?
A: Depending on the circumstances and size of the bargaining unit, it can be 2-18 months prior.
Q: Where do your workers come from? Are they local or national?
A: Echelon provides nationwide skilled employees.
Q: How are they housed and who finds housing for them?
A: Echelon provides all logistics and lodging for its employees.
Q: If we wanted to hire them directly, what is the process?
A: Since our employees are upper tier in their skill level and experience, many clients wish to hire them full-time. We discuss this with our clients on a case by case basis.
Q: How are they transported across the picket line?
A: Echelon has strike experienced van drivers that are in charge of transportation through the picket lines.
Q: Do you provide transportation for our management?
A: We can provide transportation for salaried and management personnel.
Q: Do you provide transportation for any of our employees who want to cross the picket line?
A: We can provide a separate transportation for any crossers.
Q: Do you provide PPE?
A: Echelon can provide PPE; however, we find that since each job is unique many of our clients prefer to provide their own PPE.
Q: Do you have a minimum hour’s worked requirement?
A: Minimum hours is usually 60 hours per week.
Q: Are we responsible for travel if someone arrives at our facility and isn’t qualified for the position?
A: Echelon provides qualified labor. If an employee arrives and does not meet the qualifications that were called for, Echelon will reimburse the client for expenses. This is a case by case basis.
Q: If someone arrives at the facility and is not qualified, do you replace them and is there a cost?
A: We would replace the employee at no cost.
Q: If someone is injured in our facility, do we have an OSHA recordable?
A: Echelon follows all OSHA Injury and Illness Recordkeeping and Reporting Requirements. Under the OSHA Recordkeeping regulation (29 CFR 1904), covered employers are required to prepare and maintain records of serious occupational injuries and illnesses, using the OSHA 300 Log. Depending on our clients' categorization and requirements, Echelon is in compliance will all applicable OSHA rules and regulations.
Q: Do you have any jobs available?
A: Yes, we have variety of jobs available. Please submit your resume on Apply for Jobs. As soon as we have available job for you, we will contact you.
Q: How will I receive my pay check?
A: We can send checks or deposit directly to your bank account.
Q: Who will pay me?
A: You will get paid by Echelon.
Q: How long do contract jobs/ temporary workforce situations generally last?
A: It can range from 2 weeks to 1 year or longer on some cases.
Q: Where will these jobs be located and will my travel expenses be covered?
A: Jobs can be located anywhere in the United States. Your travel expenses will be paid for.
Q: Will I receive a per diem while on the job, if outside of my local area?
A: Yes, you will.
Q: Will I be eligible for unemployment once a job ends?
A: This will depend on each specific job.
Q: Do I permanently remain in your employee database for future opportunities?
A: Yes. Please make sure you specify all your skill sets on your resume.
Q: Who will pick me up from the airport or where do I report to if I drive?
A: You will be contacted by a Project Manager and/or supervisors.
Q: How will I get into the facility?
A: Echelon will talk to you in details before each job to discuss travelling.
Q: When will I know my pay and hours?
A: Echelon will tell you before each job what your pay and hours will be.
Q: When job is over how do I get home?
A: Echelon will provide transportation and talk to you in details how you would return to your home.
Q: How often am I paid?
A: You will get paid weekly.
Q: Who will set up lodging for me?
A: Echelon will set up travelling and lodging for you.
Q: If I am guaranteed 60 hours a work week, Is that 40 hours ST and 20 hours OT?
A: Yes.
Q: If I am only working 5 days a week am I given only 5 days of Per diem?
A: You will get paid for each day including weekends.
Q: What do I do if a union member follows me to my hotel and harasses me?
A: Report to your Project Manager and/or your supervisor.
Q: Will I get to take time off after working a few months?
A: You are expected to stay on the job until it ends.
